I find myself with two questions.

1. Should I make an account on one or more of the several art sites out there. (Heck, ought to just to be able to leave comments if nothing else)

and 2. Which sites are all you folks using? DeviantART seems to be the old standby, but where else are all of you posting things?

The eagle eyed may have noticed that my default user icon has changed a little. I recently downloaded Inkscape (free/open-source vector graphics program) and as a first bit of playing around loaded in my old icon and created a vector graphics version. Among other things this means that if LiveJournal ever adds svg as an option for user pic formats then my icon could potentially be scaled larger and smaller depending on your browsers zoom settings or the size of the space its placed in. For the current time however it has to be converted to a raster format. So it has been saved and uploaded in PNG format. If your browser is a decent one then it should have a transparent background.

Inkscape looks like it should be a fun program to play around with. For now though I need to get back to my JAVA homework.

*grr* Stupid slow loading page not doing an auto-save....

*mumblegrr* Stupid bleeping *grumble* molasses slow internet connection. I ought to look into how much it would cost to have the two decades old wiring bypassed by something new.

On the other hand since I wasn't able to get some comics archives to load I had time to do another practice drawing. Eep. Well it was better than the one I posted the other day. A little bit better. But I really need to practice figure drawing. The arms and legs just looked wrong. Poor fencer would have fallen on his butt.

I really shouldn't have spent the money, but I'm already enjoying the purchase. But I think it will be the only splurging for the next few months. I really should be paying down my credit card further.

Yeah, that's a sad, sad comic. A hairy eyeball thing, a fox-wolf-anteater-who-knows-what creature, and a woeful self portrait. Obviously I'm still not the greatest artist, nor used to the hardware and software yet. Practice! Practice! Must practice more!
